Hello All,

Anyone have any recommendations for creating job descriptions for multiple positions at a chocolate company? I wanted to revise some current job descriptions that were already set in place but finding it hard to fill in bullet points or details for each specific job. Suggestions?

I would check indeed or other job hiring websites for other chocolate companies and their job descriptions. Another idea - linkedin

what kfromne said might give you some ideas.   make sure to include pertinent quality and food safety tasks, training, experience, etc.

it really is just a summary of what is expected / requirements.

My job descriptions are quite general - otherwise, I'd need to re-write them every time when something in our processes or policies is changed. That complies fine with FSSC22000, however, SQF code might have stricter standard to job descriptions, not sure. I'd  follow the abovementioned suggestions.

I also try to keep everything possible, as generalized as possible.   Vague even.  It can certainly make life easier in the long run.

We're a smaller place, so job descriptions here have to be anyway, as we all wear many hats.   I'm taking a break from working on the production line as we speak.   Not something a technical director will do at many larger places.

Ask your employees to write a list of tasks they do each day.  Make sure you include the back-up positions.

You can ask your employees to write a list of the functions they perform on a day-to-day basis and also contact your Human Resources Department, who can also advise you on this matter.
