I started a new job at a plant that make Soy crisps.

I am looking at our Hazard Analysis plan and notice at the step "ambient storages" of ingredients and packaging. In the Physical Hazards it address Pests as one of the hazards. Column (4) - Justify your decision for column 3 it said "pest can get into product contaminating it. Column (5) - What preventive control measure(s) in place is Pest Control.

Question: Is this normal to address this as a hazards.

Yes, with a caveat, it should be a pest control program, not just pest control

do you have a program in place for pest traps, inspection etc?

You may also want to include some sort of building inspection, door sweeps are intact, doors are self closing etc
