Hello Everyone

Has anyone developed a Food Safety Culture Roadmap with key milestones/goals to achieve in order to improve the food safety culture and employee behaviour.

Please share some examples of key milestones or goals listed down.

Thank you in advance.

We have done a 5 year strategic action plan that includes ways to improve staff inclusion and participation as well as major projects that have an impact on employee and food safety/training.  We review it annually and build programs in it with staff needed, timeline needed, funds needed, etc.  It is probably the most effective plan that we have made to date and gives us milestones and project start times.

Cheers!

Thank you for replying Brendan, will you be able to share the template so I could get some further insight (you can score out any sensitive information). I am tasked to develop a road map with key milestones to achieve over the next few years and use it as a tool to continually improve the FS culture at our processing plant.

Regards

while not super specific., the link below has a maturity model at the very end.  it may give you some ideas of areas that you have not considered.   Its not super specific, but I think its worth reviewing and possibly developing your own target(s) from it.

Oh awesome! Thanks for the resource. We just had this written up as an NC during our BRC audit (after years of no auditors mentioning we weren't meeting the clause since version 8 came out  :uhm: ). Talk about good timing.

The GFSI document on Food Safety Culture, A CULTURE OF FOOD SAFETY A POSITION PAPER FROM THE GLOBAL FOOD SAFETY INITIATIVE (GFSI), is a great resource for what you are describing.  Starting in Appendix 4 they have Model Phases so your team can determine where you think your facility/company currently is and then use some of the points in the next phase as goals to improve and so on.  If you are already at level 5 then plan how you can keep it at that level.

Thank you for commenting, I have already referred to this document to create the roadmap, wanted to see some examples of what others have created. Think this is by far the best reference available.

A long road ahead. :)
