Good Day Food Safety Team

Trust you are all well and keeping safe.

I require some advice regarding Micro re TPC acceptable limits in a Spice and Herb environment

Our TPC limit is set at 100 on air plates, however we are always receiving positive results eg. 160, TNC (too numerous to count), 160, 200, 160, 124, We were asked to increase the limits, but need to know what is the maximum allowed limit.

Thanking you kindly for your assistance

Hi Kelpack,

I presume you are talking about sedimentation (settle) plates ?

Need to know (a) units of your numbers, (b) yr time of exposure, (c) diameter of yr plates ?

eg a typical datum might look like 100 cfu/cm2/hour

PS - and possibly the media/incubation time/temperature involved.

Kind Regards,

Charles.C
