There are many operations using tubular drag conveyors, like the cablevey brand, however, I personally do not see them as sanitary enough for finished product (after a kill step). It just seems like it would be difficult to effectively clean the system if an issue were to occur. I have read the literature on vendors' websites but would rather hear about personal experiences. 

 

I'd appreciate if anyone could provide some insight on how you like the conveyor, if you have foreign material associated with them, and if you find them difficult to clean. If you do have this conveyor with CIP capability, how well does it dry? Curious if there could still be water in the system upon start-up. Thanks!

I would stick with UHMW for food contact conveyor, whether in roller or slat style

The items in your pic look like a recipe for disaster and would only be considered for the material handling portion of your process (once in final box/carton)

Completely agree - or have something vacuumed or pneumatically conveyed. I just don't see the appeal and looking to see if anyone would make a good argument for them other than cost.

I have never seen those.   I watched the cleaning video, at least they came up with something.    On the flip side, I haven't seem many if any pneumatic systems that could be or are adequately cleaned either.    seems like there is better solutions.
