Fire Extinguisher Placement

It depends on the fire codes in your state. Our code states they be no more than 75' traveling distance between FEs and there be one at every entrance. Signage needs to be placed in plain sight above each FE. Special circumstances or equipment would need to be separately considered. There also needs to be 36" clear access to them and they be protected. Never in the actual door opening itself as it is not protected there. Contact your state's DHS or Fire Marshall if it's different. Maybe just call your insurance company and they can direct you, if you have a good relationship with them

Hello all!

I am installing fire extinguishers in the warehouse.
My plan is to mount it to the red support beam indicated in the picture. It is less than a 15 second walk from the farthest point in the warehouse.

Does it need to be more out of the way or is that not a factor?

Thank you all for your time.

Kindest regards,

Graham S

Out of the way - otherwise, it could be smashed by forklift or so. Also, there should be a sign indicating a fire extinguisher location.

That looks like a doorway.  If it was on either side of the doorway it would be fine, but not in it.
