We use distilled water in some of our testing.  We have bottled water delivered, but I have been asked to look into a water distiller.

Does anyone use one?  Or have any suggestions on bottled over making our own?

Thanks!

Greetings,

"Home-made" distilled water with a distiller tends to be superior to bottled or let's say of lab quality, if the bottled is distilled water of general use and not for lab specifically. Accreditation auditors tend to favor a lab that has it's own distiller, cause it is simpler when you check the parameters that ensure that it is ok to be used. Also, it will propably save you some money, apart from the initial investment.

These are some suggestions (no affiliations), but you can search further based on them:

A lab I visited recently had this model "Synergy® system & Synergy UV system" which was great. Keep in mind that you don't really need an ultra expensive distiller, as there are many good deals for the simple task it performs.

Regards!

We use about 2-4 gallons per day.

i use to have something like the below.   ive also just had basic under the counter RO systems.  it depends on what you are using the water for.   ex: making reagents vs HPLC,

I dont like buying water.   Just a pain - to me.
