Hi,

We are a yoghurt manufacturer company based in Northern Ireland. Our first BRC certification was December last year.

I was hoping to get some advice on how to show compliance/provide evidence on the below requirements.

4.2.2 Where applicable, the food defence plan shall meet the legal requirements in the country of sale or intended use.

Thank you

Regards

Ildiko

Hi Ildiko,

I believe that his part of clause 4.2.2 was put in to align the BRCGS Global Standard for Food Safety Issue 9 with US legislation, from BRCGS Guidance:

Where there are legal requirements relating to food defence (e.g. in the US FSMA), the site must be able to demonstrate that its food defence plan meets these requirements.

The relevant US legislation is here

Obviously the requirement may be applicable to all sites/countries and is dependent on the country of intended use/sale.

I am not aware of any specific requirements but legislation for the UK, including NI with some links to relevant EU law is here.

Kind regards,

Tony
