Afternoon All,

Was wondering - does anyone have the definition of 'beer' in the UK (No sarcasm please)

I understand there are no technical standards in this country (hence mass produced belgian and german brews being vastly superior) but apparently the Alcoholic Liquor Duties act 1979 has a definition, and I can't get hold of the legislation.

Any help as ever appreciated!

Have a good weekend all.

Dear Mrfoodlaw,

This link (and included links) may answer some of yr query -
http://www.ndad.nati.../19/detail.html

If nothing else, reading it gives you a thirst.

Added - I think availability of specific law you mention is just like the ISO regulations.
Can also try -
