Good morning! Does anyone have documentation regarding weights/measures and tolerances for Japan, China etc.? I am trying to determine what the tolerance levels are for drained weight variances. Do you think using USA/EU guidance to build a process will apply in other international markets?

Thank you in advance.

Greetings Charlie,

You can find a useful guide for some of the main Asian countries:

https://resourcehub....-food-law-guide

Also, there is no specific regulation concerning weight indication for food, but it refers you to general trade instructions concerning this matter called Measurement Act under the Cabinet Order:

https://www.japanese...ws/view/3027/en

As an extra you can always ask the importer of your products to a specific country to provide you with additional guidance/ advice/ directions, as they should have a better knowledge of their legislation.

These should provide you a good start.

Regards!
