Hello,

Recently I work at premixes manufacturer, which is produce mineral premix and also vitamin premix. If the production is only one, is it necessary to flushing our production line between process of different product? If it is necessary, what is the reason?

Because as I know that there are many product from other manufacturer mix mineral and vitamin in one product.

Our product do not use drugs.

Best regards,

Yudhis

Greetings Yudhis,

Producing one product that combines two ingredients is a different thing from producing two products each with said ingredient. In your case it falls in GMP guidelines, meaning that when alternating products then the production line should be cleaned in-between.

If for no other reason, then just for making sure that ingredients from the first product don't pass to the next one. Meaning that if you produce the mix mineral supplement first, you propably don't want to find traces of it in the vitamin premix.

Regards!

Thank you for your reply.

So the main purpose of flushing procedure to make sure the production line is clean from material of previous product and avoid unsafe contamination risk?

Although we know that if the material from previous product mix with next product have no harmful risk?

Regards,

If the material from the previous product mixed with the next product have no harmful risk then you need to check what changes are coming in the organoleptic parameters of the product? If some changes are observed then you need to flush the production line.

Secondly, allergen risk assessment is also needs to be done.
