Hello all,

I have a compliance related question.

As we know, FSSCV6 is comprised of a three part scheme.

  • ISO 22000:2018
  • ISO/TS 22002-X:2019 (X being your applicable industry)
  • FSSC additional requirements

Now, ISO has just officially withdrawn ISO/TS 22002-X:2019, replacing them with ISO 22002-100:2025 and ISO 22002-X:2025 (X again being whatever your industry is).

I know it's still very early days, but I do not see any news, updates, or statement from FSSC regarding this recent change.

I'm asking this as we are in the middle of updating our IMS documentation, and I realized I couldn't take out any mentions of ISO/TS as it's still technically required by the FSSC scheme.

But according to ISO, that document is now dead. Should I wait to update our documentation whenever FSSC releases their own update, or should I go ahead anyway and make my case to auditors whenever this point comes up? What would you do?

Important question. Clearly, major standards like ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 must first be updated before we can begin implementing the revised PRPs

I also raised the same question during a webinar on this topic.

The consultant recommended that if it can be implemented, it's better to go ahead with it, as they believe there’s no downside. However, our company is still taking a wait-and-see approach and will consider making changes during the review if it is indeed possible..

Since in the FSSC 22.000 Scheme Overview no release date for ISO 22002 is mentioned I would think, that the latest version should be used.

The text is: "Relevant prerequisite programs (PRPs) base on technical specifications for the sector (e.g. ISO/TS 22002-x; PAS xyz)"

Hi alabdulla_n,

I would expect that FSSC 22000 Certification Scheme Version 6.0 Scope and Additional Requirements where there are references to the withdrawn 22002 technical specifications to be updated shorty.

Attached File  FSSC 22000 Certification Scheme V6 Scope.png   995.52KB   0 downloads

You can’t do any harm by updating your systems to comply with the relevant Technical Specifications now.

For example, for Food Manufacturers ISO 22002-100:2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety Part 100: Requirements for the food, feed and packaging supply chain and ISO 22002-1:2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety Part 1: Food manufacturing now instead of the withdrawn ISO/TS 22002-1:2009.

Kind regards,

Tony
