Hi Everyone,

FSSC has commenced developing Version 7 of the FSSC 22000 Scheme.

Rationale for Developing Version 7

The main factors that initiated the development of this version were:

Incorporating the new ISO 22002-x:2025 series on pre-requisite programs

Aligning of the Scheme with the GFSI benchmarking requirements v2024

Strengthening the requirements to support organizations in their contributions to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Providing a more defined structure for the division of food chain categories

Editorial changes and amendments as part of continuous improvement

Publication Timeline

While the exact publication date for Version 7 hasn’t been confirmed, it’s expected to be released around the end of Q1 or beginning of Q2 2026. CBs and Certified Organizations will be given a 12-month transition period to allow implementation of the new version.

Reminder: Continuation Version 6

FSSC 22000 Version 6 continues to utilize the existing ISO/TS 22002-X series as defined under the Scheme, Part 1, Table 1. The ISO/TS 22002-X series are still available to buy from National Standards Bodies.

Personal Note:

See FSSC 22000 Part 1 | Scheme Overview Table 1:

The following ISO/TS 22002-X series documents have been withdrawn

ISO/TS 22002-1:2009 Food Manufacturing

ISO/TS 22002-2:2013 Catering

ISO/TS 22002-4:2013 Food packaging manufacturing

ISO/TS 22002-5:2019 Transport and storage

ISO/TS 22002-6:2016 Feed and animal food production

Where the relevant ISO/TS 22002-X series document has been withdrawn, I would start using the new ISO 22002-x:2025 series on pre-requisite programs. For example, instead of ISO/TS 22002-1:2009 Prerequisite programmes on food safety Part 1: Food manufacturing, use: ISO 22002-100:2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety Part 100: Requirements for the food, feed and packaging supply chain, and ISO 22002-1:2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety Part 1: Food manufacturing.

See my ISO 22002 change summary for food manufacturers in this topic ISO 22002 2025 Change Summary - Food Manufacturing

Kind regards,

Tony
