Hello!

I wonder if someone could provide me with some advice on a simple, auditor friendly numbering system for our facility's FSMS. We are  ISO 22000:2018 / ISO 22002:2009 / additional requirements FSSC 22000 certified and I come from an SQF background and so I just wondering if one could provide me guidance on how this would all flow together, including HACCP and GMPs.

My initial thought was to number them according to either ISO or FSSC standards as that is how I had my previous workplace's FSMS. I based the numbering system off of the SQF elements, and HACCP and GMP being all separate in their own folders.

Hi hgarding,

We base the IFSQN FSSC documents in the FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System for Food Manufacturers - Version 6 2025 on the numbering in the following standards for ease of understanding and implementation:

International Standard ISO 22000 2018 Food safety management systems — Requirements for any organization in the food chain

ISO 22002-100 2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety — Part 100: Requirements for the food, feed and packaging supply chain

ISO 22002-1 2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety — Part 1: Food manufacturing

You can see an example in this IFSQN FSSC 22000 Food Safety Management System Start Up Guide Sample

Page 8 Food Safety Management System

Page 24 Prerequisite Programmes

We also cross reference the FSSC 22000 Additional Requirements in a separate log. See example below.

Ultimately it is up to you how you number your documents though.

Kind regards,

Tony
