In this forum the metal detecting problem has already been outlined with aluminum packagings:

I don't know if it can confront in the same way, but I meet with the problem of making metal detection in a product wrapped with a metalized film (aluminized).
It has a considerably smaller thickness that an aluminum film, but not less problems.
Has anybody had this problem?
Note: I can not use x-rays (by $$)

I was going to suggest x-ray until I saw your last comment. I'm not sure metal detectors are capable of this - can anyone confirm?

So, I suppose that it is technical possible to detect metal (ferro) in packages with aluminium. Maybe this is also an investment, that is too big.

Is it possible in your process to place a metal detector before the packaging machine?

Thank you for the suggestion. I will investigate with Mettler, I am for sure it is not cheap.
But extract tells that it is ferrous detector; and we need for stainless steel.

Is it possible in your process to place a metal detector before the packaging machine?

In some lines we have detecting before packaging machines, but we put the candies on bags, if a nut falls on transport band, it will surely fall inside the bag together with the candies.

That will indeed be a problem when the product is ment for children.
