The zip file below (approx. 228 kb) contains:

- Hygiene management procedures (with index and list of supporting documents)
- Supporting Documents
- Example HACCP study manual
- BRC/IoP Gap Analysis Checklist

This documentary system has achieved certification to the BRC/IoP Packaging Standard - category B. Obviously all of the procedures were in place and fully implemented.

zipped hygiene documents

Please note:

1. Although in the procedures microbiological auditing (swabbing etc.) is not a requirement of the standard but was always carried out by this company as a customer requirement.

2. You are welcome to do what you want with these documents (apart from sell them). They are provided free, 'as is' and with no warranty. They are provided solely as examples to give you ideas. They must be reviewed and amended as appropriate to your own organisation, product and process etc.

If documents are missing or anybody wants a specific document just ask in here. Also if you want to talk about documents again we can do it in here.
;)
Regards,
Simon

Hi Simon,

First I want to thank you for sharing your documents with us.

I started working in a plastic packaging company recently and all of our Food Producer Customers want us to build a HACCP sytem. We have already ISO 9001. As a food engineer :uhm: I think it will be hard to implement such a system. After detirmining the CCPs how the limits will be controlled. Q.A LAb is not compatible with microbiological analysis and ther are no checks for the raw materials (polymers) whether it's chemically suitable or not.
Did you face the same problems ?

Bahar

Dear Bahar,

You will have to be more specific in your "problems" for us to help you along. As a Food Eng. you are certainly in a better position than a lot of others who have little or no knowledge at all about Haccp.

Developing a Haccp Plan is really not that difficult as you think. The core of it is essentially having a good understanding of the Codex & Haccp principles and the commitment to sustain the system.

Don't worry too much about the CCPoints and Critical Limits for now as it will be taken care of mainly by your analytical measurements rather than the microbiological specifications.

Tell us more!

Charles Chew

Hi Bahar :welcome:

Charles is right we could do with a little more information in order to help you. For example:

- What is the process?
- Is the packaging intended for direct food contact?
- What assurance do you get from your material suppliers?
- Do they sell the material as fit for direct food contact?

If you simply convert a direct food contact raw material then the responsibility for ensuring that it continues to be suitable for direct food contact rests with the suppliers, your responsibility is to agree specifcations, get certificates confirming compliance to relevant norms, regulations, acts etc. and possibly the results of tests, such as migration.

Simon

Dear All:

May I ask any one of you from packaging company has QC criteria (instrumental and chemical analysis) for these following packages: tin can, plastic container, corrugated box, paper label, and glass bottle. What QC methods or testing you have for those packagings.

Thank you in advance for your kind help.

Best regards,
Jenny

Thanks for the docs Simon, I hope you don't mind me using them as one of my case studies for a training course?

If you do, let me know and I won't use them :oops2:

I came across this post now only. How I wish I had seen it perhaps 6 months back atleast.............as it would have solved many of the doubts I had when we had started our documentation for ISO 22000.

Any way better late than never.....

Thanks for the warm welcome  .
I really cannot access the zipped files but now I could. I've just opened a treasure chest -almost all i need is in there.
Btw, could i use these files as is for our BRC documentation? I hope i could not be sued for plagiarism or infringement of intellectual property rights?

Have one more issue, this forum is linked to www.saferpak.com. I would like to purchase the hygiene training material but is there a way i could do that aside from credit card?

This forum really rocks!!!

The documents at the top of the thread were originally designed for a BRC Packaging Standard system (and they passed the test). With some adaption I'm sure they would provide a helpful starting point for any packaging organisation embarking on management system development for BRC, ISO 22000 or EN15593 certification.

I made some minor chages to these docuements recently and I will update them next week.

Regards,
Simon
