Why is it that every big event ends up in London??

The Motor show has now gone to Excel, along with the desperate bid for the Olympics, it is almost as if the rest of the country doesn't exist, personally I hope Paris get the Olympics as it is cheaper to fly there than to get the Train to London!!

Surely Birmingham, Coventry, or even Manchester make more sense for big events to take place in as they are easy for anyone, anywhere in the country to get to.

With the congestion charge if you want to drive in, being charged a fortune to get the Train in, and the buses would be alright if you had a week to get there?

A few years ago Crufts decided to move to London, the number of visitors dropped so much that within a couple of years they returned to the Midlands to allow anyone to be able to go, not just people form the south.

I understand that it is our Capital city, but that shouldn't mean anything. If you ask anyone to name an American city would Washington be the first thing out of their mouth, I think not!!

Rant Over!!

Nadine

The majority of the main motorways pass right near to Coventry, it is possibly one of the easiest cities to get to!! (So I've Heard)

Apologies Nadine, it was very unfair of me to try and wind you up mid-rant. It should be added to the forum rules, I deserve a slap. Are you from Coventry?

Simon

I'm not from Coventry, Just think it is one of the places that make more sense than London!!

Don't get in the way when I am going off on one, I will not be responsible for my actions :bop:

I know I started this to whinge about London, but nobody deserves the horrors that occured last week.

I would just like to say Congratulations to London on getting the Olympics for 2012 and I hope that they put on a storming show.

Nadine.

Don't feel bad Nadine they're still a bunch of whinging softies - nothing can change that! That said they have demonstrated the British Bulldog spirit at its very finest these past few days. Much love to them all.

They will and I'm going with the family, the twins will be twelve, little Louis will be six and I'll be thir..thirt..FORTY SIX!!! :o
