10 years ago, January 2003 our website was born. Initially we were called the SaferPak Discussion Forums (The SDF), but we relaunched as the International Food Safety & Quality Network in the summer of 2006.

I won't deny at times it's been extremely hard work, stressful and tiring, but at the same time it’s very rewarding and an absolute privilege to be the administrator of such a vibrant, friendly and educational discussion forums.

The thing that gives me most pride is the way members from different countries and cultures and levels of competence come together to help each other in a courteous and professional manner. This is why we have over 18,000 members with hundreds more joining every week.

Here’s to the members of the IFSQN – wishing you all a Healthy & Happy 2013 - let’s hope we’re here in another 10 years time.

Special mention to Charles C. - IFSQN Super Moderator.

Best Regards,
Simon

Simon, I've found this forum invaluable over the years that I've been using it. It has at times helped me to get out of a sticky situation, only because the members here are ready to pass on the information that they've gleaned. I actually record in my HACCP documentatin that i am a member of IFSQN, and i'm sure there are a few auditors who will have looked us up. It's amazing that there are 18,000 members, you're obviously doing something right. Look out Facebook!! And to see that these members are spread from all over the world. I find it extremley interesting to see how things are done in other countries, and to be fair i've adopted a few processes and procedures from other countries systems.

Here's to the next 10 years!

Caz xx

Thanks to all for the kind words it means a lot. Some of the longstanding members here will remember I was a prolific poster on the forums in the early days, unfortunately these day’s I’m forced more and more to take a back seat maintaining the website (the boring stuff). Some would say that’s a good thing. Even though I don't contribute as much as I’d like to, I can tell you that I read every single topic and post made and the levels of knowledge are remarkable. I don’t bask in the glory ever. However, when I do sit and reflect I am proud and sincerely honored to be a part of the most important food safety networking website in the world.

I will say again without you the loyal members the IFSQN is nothing.

Thank you for your continued patronage.

Simon

IFSQN will DEFINITELY be here still in 10 years. Food Safety has only nicked the top of the iceberg. And for a safe international food supply ... we have a ways to go yet.

And this website and its forums and information exchange will be right there with it!
