Hi Mihalis,

I like this simple explanation of TQM

A question. All of the same principles apply no matter what industry sector so why does it have to be an article about TQM in the food industry?

Regards,
Simon

Dear Simon and Mihalis,

Good question, Simon. I feel the same way too. But after I think it over, I guess it could be different in the other way. Coz when we talkin about Food Industry, we also talkin about food safety (HACCP). A point that maybe (just maybe) wont covered with TQM only. I've research some references, and yes they think that HACCP is another manifestation of TQM in Food Industry:

http://haccpalliance...iance/haccp.htm

http://news.ucanr.or...n.cfm?story=251

But in my tiny little heart still wondering.. That probably on their head they still think its a different way. Well, errr the point is... IMO it just like a certification body that telling you still need ISO 22k even if you have ISO 9001 and HACCP...

A bit disrupted from the main topic, but I hope my opinion was not way off the topic :p

Regards,

Arya

IF
safety and quality means perfection
AND
nobody's perfect
THEN
why should I bother?

Thanks for the link Arya. Let's put it this way if you are a food company and you don't have HACCP you are a million miles away from TQM. Food safety and quality are customer requirements. But just one set of customer requirements. TQM is EVERYTHING an organisation does...or is.
