Recently, the company I'm working for started to include microbial testing for the evaluation of plant sanitation and hygienic measures. Since we've just started to include it in our company, I am having difficulty in creating the suitable tests for our meat processing and powder divisions. We are using the 3M Quick Swab Kit for personnel and machines then plate it on APC, E.coli/coliform, and staph express plates (also from 3M).
I would like to know if there are tests better suited for meat processing and for powdered drink mixes. Is APC, E.coli and Staph sufficient for hand swabbing and machine evaluation? Can anyone suggest other tests since we have a wet and dry production areas?
Thanks a lot!
