Hi All

You will see that I'm very new to this, but I hope somebody can give me a clue where to start.

We currently import a few food products from Spain. They are all either dried goods (eg rice, saffron etc) or bottled goods (vegetables etc). We don't do any preparation or anything like that. They are just stored in a small storeroom and dispatched to customers as they are purchased.

What HACCP procedures would apply to us in this case?. Where can I look for information etc that applies in our case.

Many thanks in advance

Kevin

Dear paellaco,

Welcome to the forum ! :welcome:

I’m not based in UK so I apologise if this question is obvious but is there already a specific reason why you have to get involved with HACCP – EC food regulatory requirement ?, customer request or ?. Secondly,do you hv any related experience in food QA / safety / Quality Management Systems. I expect your situation could match standards like ISO 22000 or the BRC distribution / warehousing standard (not my area) but this depends on yr own specific objectives. There are people here with experience in non-processing areas.

Kind Regards,

Who are your customers Kevin?
Are your suppliers qualified - do they have HACCP based food safety systems?
Is there any need for the products to be stored at a particular temperature?
Do they have a shelf life?
How are they labelled?

More questions than answers at this stage. Try and provide some additional information and I'm sure members will be able to help you.

Regards,
Simon
