At long last, it looks you there is no need to re-type the BRC Global Standards requirements in order to use them as part of an internal audit, or gap analysis checklist.

If you go to the BRC website, www.brcglobalstandards.com and on the left hand menu, choose: Standards - Food - Guidance and FAQ's - Guidance Documents and there it is. The file name is Self Assessment Tool, and it is in several language options.

For the other Standards, of course there is a slightly different pathway. You start in the same menu, then choose: Standards - Packaging - Downloadable Documents and then the Self Assessment Tool.

This also gives all of those trying to decide which scheme is best an easy opportunity to see the requirements and compare them to the other GFSI schemes. All in MS Word as well.

Just one piece of feedback if you don't mind John. I find the BRC website quite hard to navigate and the information is a little buried, I would expect much better from the mighty BRC. Also I really think you need to list IFSQN under 'partners'.

Great links, it is obvious that BRC are feeling the competition these days thanks to dear GFSI.

Might be worth re-iterating that more in-depth analyses of certain issues are available (on order) from the "guidelines" document listed at the left of Simon's linked pages.

Simon, feedback is always appreciated. There has been some improvement in content of the website, but you were right, the overall navigation is still an "opportunity for improvement".

An alternative could be to use the BRC7 free self-assessment document (Word) and adjust / re-entitle / split / allocate it accordingly. Assuming it's still available of course.

IIRC and since this is BRC, I believe there inevitably has to be a risk-based element incorporated in the layout. Examples have been previously posted here.
