Hi All,
I'm busy now with meat processing plant design and need to clarify how to protect the site properly from rodents and other animals (moles, rats, tramp dogs etc.). Above-ground fencing design is clear, but is it necessary to make underground part? I'm guessing that probably it's reasonable to use fine mesh and dig it down to 0,3-0,5 meters to prevent moles and other subterranean animals. Is it specified by any food safety regulations (US, UK, European)? What is right dimensions of that elements according to regulations? I'm from Ukraine, in ex-Soviet countries regulations I didn't find any requirements at all, so I'm looking for international experience. If anybody can share own experience and reference to regulations - it would be grate.
BTW, what do you use to prevent access of tramp dogs under the gates and wickets?
Many thanks for your answers.
