Good Afternoon!

My Canadian company exports to the EU and has identity preserved status products in the sense that they are GMO free and non-irradiated. These products share production lines with GMOs and irradiated products.

While we test to ensure that production lines are visually and allergen clean between GMO and non-GMO product (schedule them as if they were covered under the allergen management program) we do not test the line for evidence of residual GMOs or irradiation after NON identity preserved status products.

Could anyone suggest tests we could or should be running to validate that our cleaning procedures are adequate to preserving the identity of our GMO free and non-irradiated products?

Thanks

Isabelle

I guess from a food safety perspective this GMO and irradiation issue is irrelevant.  But surely this would hit a chord for those of us with Identity Preserved Status foods?
