We are in the food contact packaging business. We are not automated at our point of creating boxes. We still have people doing this while on the line. It happens very quickly, but our SQF consultant walked through the plant and made an off-handed statement about how the boxes were touching the floor while they were being made.
This is always how it has been done in the plant. For SQF, would it be sufficient to perform a risk assessment to illustrate the low risk of contamination? We were looking into getting floor coverings of some kind, but now I need to worry about trip hazards and the like.
Just looking for other feedback so we don't ignore this subject. Thank you.
