Hi, I'm  trying to set environmental monitoring limits. We are food contact packaging and one of our drains tested positive (does not come into any contact with our product). We were wondering about retesting after a cleaning for a corrective action but don't currently have any limits and have had an extremely hard time finding research pertaining to the product we produce to help set any by scientific standard. Can anyone help? TIA!

Quantitative Y&M Result = ?

Frequency of testing = ?

First time of testing ?

method of testing ? after just cleaned ?

Any other locations tested ? Results ?

Significance might relate to the Process but, offhand, drains are good places to find bacteria !

Kind Regards,

Quantitative result-  440 yeast , 110 Mold

Frequency- Annual to Bi-annual (environmental monitoring)

3rd time testing

Testing conducted prior to any cleaning

4 other locations tested (this is the only drain however)

This drain has been tested and previous results  were 1st test showed trace amounts of staph,  2nd test was negative for staph and performed as a corrective action after cleaning,  this test is the 3rd and now positive for yeast and mold.
