Hello Team,

I just had a query about Genome Editing Foods. is this same as GMO?

If not what is the regulation for EU and how do we comply this?

Regards

The regulations you'll want to read are (EC) 1829/2003 and (EC) 1830/2003.

Genome editing is likely to result in what would be considered as a genetically modified organism for EU regulatory purposes, and indeed last year the European Court of Justice that this also extended to organisms obtained by mutagenesis (see attached ECJ press release).
