You need to go through and look at the hazards your facility may present to your product.  Here's some questions and starting document.

Do you have uniforms? Are they cleaned in-house or by your employees?

Hi sara,

Was there a specific reason(s) for the NC or just absence of a response to clause 11.3.3.1 ?

SQF do offer some "Risk assessment" Guidance for ver.9 but it's rather trivial IMO.

In contrast, SQF 8.1 Guidance is perhaps more focussed/useful such as this extract  -

PS - this topic has generated substantial previous discussion, eg -

Particularly see Post 5 and note the quote -

<<<< A risk analysis will identify which items are appropriate for the personnel, product and process.>>>>>

As I understand, Post 2 of current thread is an intro to the risk analysis. I suggest the mechanics of the risk analysis can be tabulated (eg see file attached below) with a much simplified version of the sample attached in this (BRC-oriented) post

I anticipate the clothing/hairnet/usage combinations implemented in most Facility Areas can be identified within ca. 1-5  "sets" detailed as indicated in the SQF 8.1 guidance, eg criteria for Low Risk/High Risk/ Cold Storage areas etc to yield a simple "map" as crudely illustrated/summarised in following pdf file -

I got hit on the same thing last year.  Very frustrating when the focus is on one tiny sentence in a clause IMO.  After getting an NC for it, I keep looking now for other places in the code that mention risk assessment or risk assess.  Then the code gets updated...

I was frustrated with that NC cause we had the same policy in place for years and then all of a sudden a risk assessment was needed.  Just keep it simple and do a simple assessment on any protective clothing, hair nets, etc. you might use.
