Hi all,

I hope everyone has had an enjoyable holiday season!

The start-up company I am working within will be making plant-based beverages. The process will result in fibrous byproducts, potential concentrates, and flavoured, finished products.

When we are up and running, we will want to ship the aforementioned products across the border to the United States. I am researching and came across phytosanitary certification. As this is a plant-based product, I am curious as to whether or not we will require this type of certification.

This is either a liquid, ready to eat drink or pulpous fibre that has gone through some milling, so the presence of pests should be null, but the subject of disease has me stumped.

Thank-you for any and all assistance!

phytosanitary certs are not usually required for processed products.

if in doubt, it doesn't hurt to ask your local regulators they will know the intricacies of the receiving countries requirements.
