Dear IFSQN Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I share the sad news of the passing of one of our long-time moderators, Charles C.. He joined the forum in 2004, just two years after its launch, and quickly became an integral part of our community. His dedication and expertise were invaluable, but beyond that, he was a kind, thoughtful, and supportive presence. He was more than just a moderator, he was a friend, and his contributions to our forum will always be remembered.
I personally have many fond memories of our conversations, where we would discuss everything from forum matters to the stories of our families. He was always genuinely interested in hearing about my twin boys, who are now 25, and I knew he cherished his own family deeply. His sudden absence last year left me concerned, and it is with great sadness that we now learn of his passing.
In honour of his memory, we are planning to create an annual award in his name. This award will be given to a forum member who exemplifies the same qualities that Charles C. did so well: a commitment to learning, a spirit of kindness, and a dedication to helping others. We believe this is a fitting tribute to the positive influence he had here.
Please join me in offering your condolences to his family during this difficult time.
If there's anything I can do, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Simon

I regret I haven't been around here for a while, but Simon if you're able, please pass along to his family how well we regarded him, even those of us who only knew him through his forum posts. I learned a lot from so many here and surprisingly have forgotten none of them, of whom Charles C. is chief. As Brothbro said, Charles will be teaching many for a long time to come.
