The Chartered Institute of Environment of Health (CIEH) are promoting an initiative in the UK whereby food outlets (cafes, restaurants, takeaways etc.) are encouraged to display the results of their most recent Environmental Health Officer (EHO) Inspection, in a prominent position, possibly on their front door.

The initiative is voluntary but if it takes off and becomes the norm, consumers will be informed of the standards of hygiene operating within and importantly they will be able to make a judgement when an outlet chooses not to display their results.

A good idea. I wonder if it applies to Supermarkets…
