What are you referring to as being implemented, communicated and maintained...the policy itself or the food safety management system?

By the way here is an old thread that may be of interest:
Measurable Objectives for a Food Safety Policy

Dear Simon,

"Implemented, Communicated and Maintained" is refering to food safety policy itself. But the external auditor commented that we do not have a measureable objective to support this statement especially "communicated". Does anyone have a idea or experience this before, what shall i measure about the communicated???

Hi Carine

The link didn't work for me so - communication

Measureable objectives

On all notice boards
All staff are aware
In team briefings - signed off by employees
Training records completed
etc.

Which I think you can measure?

Regards,

Tony

Dear Tony-C:

how is u objectives statement?? can share to me??

How about:

Company XYZ have implemented a Food Safety Management System with an aim to produce and supply safe quality end products that meet customers’ satisfactions and expectations. That comply with legal obligations and protect the consumers with consistent safe food products through the application of good manufacturing/hygiene practices and HACCP principles.

We ensure all employees involved in food production receive appropriate and adequate training in food safety and handling courses. We recognise the importance of communciation and ensure that both internal and external communications regarding food safety are fully addressed.

Are you happy with this?

Carine we love questions but can I advise you to ask a question only once. You appear to be asking the same question in different ways in multiple topic threads.
It would also be courteous if when you get a helpful answer that you provide feedback and thanks to members. Otherwise I fear the goodwill that motivates members to give their time and knowledge freely will dissipate - and we do not want that.

Thanks,
Simon

Food safety policy should be communicated to employees, customers, suppliers and other interested parties in the supply chain by:

  • posting, e-mailing, fixing on notice boards, frame and hanging in meeting room, visitors area / waiting area, reception of your organization.
  • Translation in other languages (local/regional) so that all employees of your organization are aware
  • Acknowledgment sign-off copies after communication,
  • Communication in internal trainings
  • In product awareness trainings for sales & new customers, existing customers, etc.
