Dear All,
I would like to know whether there is any conventional method is used for hygiene monitoring using UV-VIS spectrophotometer without using regular hygiene monitor & swab. Could you please share.

IMO..

you can use Protein based method to control your cleaning effectiveness.. but i dont know limitation of this method.. may be you can checek the accuartion and precsion of this method.. and i think usable if your product contain protein.. so if in your line clean it should be no protein detected by spectro...

thats my opinion...

Hi Anish

I haven't seen such an application. UV/Vis spectroscopy is routinely used in the quantitative determination of transition metal ions and highly conjugated organic compounds. Applications in the Food Industry include measurement of Vitamin B12, Caffeine, Wine colour, Phosphorus, Lead and Zinc.

I have in the past used a UV light to look for Biofilm, but to confirm a problem, not on a routine basis.
