Hi,

From the last auditor we got a remark that one of the employees was not wearing his hearnet correctly - his ears covered by the hairnet, but some hairs where not in the harinet.

Does anyone have a image / photos on how to wear a hairnet the correct / wrong way?

Thanks in advance!

Anne

Hi, Anne,

I think is it best to ask the auditor what they want. In the meantime, we have many, many threads here covering hairnets and their use.  Please search for more, but here's a few.

I would also suggest that a hairnet should cover all hair, from the crown to the nape.  Same goes for facial hair.

Best Wishes,

Setanta

Setanta is right all of the hair should be covered.  While it is not unusual for a few wisps to want to fall out, it is something that needs to be prevented.  I have often seen where people who have  a lot of hair will use two hairnets to make sure it is all covered.

We use a item over top of our hear needs called a snood (balaclava) this solves all issues from facial hair , to hair hanging out of the hair net, the ones we use are washable.  simalar to these ones

We had exactly the same issue, and what we did was take one of our supervisors and photograph him with the net on wrongly and the net on correctly. We also made a thing of pointing out to everyone the fact that we got a non-conformance for it and how easily preventable it was. It made a huge difference, people are super aware of wearing hair nets now and I have seen them pointing it out to other if they have been put on wrongly ( see how I managed at least 4 adverbs in there, I am on a crusade to save the adverb).
