In relation to BRC Issue 8 clause 4.2.1, how is everyone staying aware of when a new risk to food defense emerges (i.e. a new threat is publicized or identified?  It would be great to have some search engines to use to look for these types of incidents.

Thank you!

Appreciate that you're in the US, but since so much of the food industry is global you may still get some benefit from this - the EU maintains a public database of incidents called the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (https://ec.europa.eu...rasff/portal_en). It's broader than "just" food defence, but can be useful nonetheless.

If you're a member of any trade associations or industry bodies then it's worth contacting them as well - many compile data on incidents of particular relevance to their sector, and some also conduct their own risk assessment and analytical monitoring programs.

I subscribe to the FDA sites, as well as IFSQN (obviously) Food Safety News, and any Food Safety magazine I can find.

Gee....   Now that's a rather depressing way to start your day.  I prefer to start the day reading U.S. political news.  That's much more cheerful.  :roflmao:

Seriously, this is a good resource; thanks for sharing.

Todd

PS: Thanks for the hint on the Plasti-dip.  So far the spray paint approach is working, but we'll see how it holds up over time.

We chose to sign up for HorizonScan. I get a daily email of any issues - both food safety and food defense related.
