I just started as a food safety specialist at the distribution center for a small regional supermarket chain. I asked for their FDA registration number and no one can seem to come up with it. Before I start deep diving into the issue, I wanted to make sure that we for sure have to be registered with the FDA.
We are a produce distribution center, that takes in product from suppliers, stores it in either ambient temp or coolers and then loads and ships into out truck trailers to go to the retail store locations owned by the company. We also cold store meat and frozen seafood in a separate section of the building that I assume is covered by the USDA inspection services.
We should have an FDA registration, correct?
