We export bacon retail packs to US. Is it a requirement to have 3 digit month code for BB date on packs (e.g. JAN instead of JA)? If yes, could you please post the link to the regulation/ requirement?

I don't believe there is a requirement for that specifically, but whatever you put needs to be clear to the consumer. For example, will JU be June or July? If you use JN for June, could that be mistaken for January? etc etc. 

 

Seems like using three letters or a number value would be the least confusing. 

 

Also now that i'm thinking about it, MA = march or may?
