Good days!
Regarding to Environmental Monitoring Program released in October 2022 (attached), there were several requirement to make sure our cleaning and sanitation is effective to control microbial contamination.
1. Is there anyone know what Microbiology Criteria Standard for sufrace area (in the scope food packaging manufacturer)?
Example, we decided to swab table surface, and we got the result are 100 CFU/100 cm2
2. Is there anyone know what Microbiology Criteria Standard for finished product (food cans)?
Please share the references if any.
we need your advice on this matter.
Thankyou so much
Hi abb,
There is no attachment.
There is no Global Standard for just cleaned/sanitized APC/Surfaces. Data can vary with aspects such as type of material/function of table/analytical methodology/etc.
Some Food manufacturing surfaces data is compiled/analysed here -
https://www.ifsqn.co...ces/#entry60958
Note the considerable variations/expectancies.
Offhand, your result (1cfu/cm2) looks "acceptable" although one datum is insufficient for a general conclusion. Data for other parameters can also be relevant, eg -
micro.hazard in food packaging manufacturing.pdf 1.07MB

ATP data might also be informative, eg
bacteria-on-can-lids.pdf 633.44KB

PS - You may find this analogous EMPG request for BRC Packaging Standard to be useful if you have the time to look up the various sub-links -
