NO ONE testing actual eggs for salmonella It's 100% environmental testing so the statement
"none of our eggs tested positive" rings pretty hollow to me
Saw this in a google:
"Yes, the FDA requires most shell egg producers to test for
Salmonella. The
FDA's "Shell Egg Rule" mandates that egg producers with 50,000 or more hens conduct environmental and egg testing for
Salmonella enteritidis. Eggs that test positive must be diverted from the marketplace.
Testing: Producers must perform regular testing of the hen house environment and the eggs themselves for Salmonella."
We use powdered egg only, but every lot is tested...
