Tesco Frozen Classic Turkey Dinner recalled

Some packs of Tesco Frozen Classic Turkey Dinner with a 'best before' end date of July 2014 have been recalled, because a manufacturing error means packs may contain a Tesco Classic All Day Breakfast meal, which contains egg. This makes the product a possible health risk to those with an allergy or intolerance to eggs. Source FSA here.

So here is the packaging:

Similar style but image not similar at all. So the question is how does this happen? For me the usual culprit is poor management of part used packaging. Next changeovers.

Any other ideas?

Tony

Could be the food company not doing line clearance effectively or the packaging company could have mixed them.  Either way someone has to pay...and I'm sure it won't be Tesco.

it is a very serious issue and line clearance has to be cast iron.

Even more important these day's as run sizes come down, quick turn around etc. and things are very fraught.

Despite all this the procedure must stand firm.

Simon
