I've been tasked  to develop a labeling system for our chemical control program in which the label is OSHA/GHS compliant but also can be understood simply by a floor employee whether the chemical is approved for a food contact surface or not.  I am not finding anything commercially that would be useful so far.  Has anyone got a template for a small label (approximately 2.5 in2) that includes the GHS pictograms AND a color or section on the label to determine if it can be used on a food contact surface or not?

I don't, but I have a suggestion

You could create binders that have all applicable chemicals listed and put food contact at the beginning and non at the back separated by a divider. You can purchase large green check mark stickers and red stop sign stickers to add to each page

Dear TAW,

Here is a remark or advice, that I would like to add to the situation you described. Otherwise, you will have nice stickers and always be challenged on this topic

The chemicals, which aren't approved for food surface contact, should be kept outside the production area. Stored appropriately in a room with limited access to authorized people.

What may circulate in the production area are minimum amounts (day stocks) of necessary chemicals (which are approved for food surface contact).

Kind regards,

Gerard Heerkens
